COSTUMES AND MASKS
WILLOW AND TISSUE PAPER

These huge masks were done with the Hammonds High School in Swaffham.
This sequence of pictures clearly shows the processes of making objects with willow and wet-strength tissue paper. First, after designing, tying together the willow frame (above left); then covering with paper ('before' picture, below); then painting a lively design (above right, and 'after' picture below).

These other huge masks made with willow and paper were done with the Latimer Referral Unit in London W11, as part of a GCSE project.
After painting we hung them up to dry which is when I took photographs of them.
